Thank you brother Osama Bin Javaid,and to your talented team from Al Jazeera English for coming to Karbala to meet us, to investigate the seriousness of the plastic pandemic in Karbala, and for honest journalism. The report is a very convincing evidence of how plastic left behind by pilgrims affects local communities and the wildlife of the holy city that blesses us.
The pandemic has hit hard in India. We pray for the safety of all brothers and sisters, especially our volunteers who have inspired many by the green actions that took for this campaign.
A few months back, trees were planted by a team of Indian volunteers of The Green Pilgrim in Mumbai to celebrate the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (s) While other volunteers are working towards making disposable eco-friendly food packaging available for pilgrims.
May the country heals quickly and they resume their good work.
